N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (acetylcysteine or acetyl-l-cysteine) is an amino acid and antioxidant.
Acetyl l cysteine a precursor in the body to the critical antioxidant glutathione, which is produced intracellularly, particularly by the liver.
Acetylcysteine is significantly more cost effective than taking glutathione since it may be difficult for glutathione to enter cells whereas acetylcysteine can enter into cells and help form glutathione.
